These products and services have also been increasingly available in the era of the super-fast Internet. Moreover, businesses now record a huge amount of business data, which is one of the core factors for their successes.

While transactions, customer demand, and expectation of services have increased in exponential levels, it is only understandable that unplanned downtime can cost companies greatly in terms of financial and reputation damages. If you have a fear of this happening to your business, there is an undeniable need for business continuity and disaster recovery services (BC/DR).

This is the second part of our Business Central series where we discuss about the benefits of getting Dynamics Business Central. In the first article , the main benefit we discussed was the way Dynamics 365 Business Central connects your business processes together.  In this article we will continue to discuss about the other two benefits in detail.

Making smarter decisions

Get an end-to-end view of your business

Organizations are typically looking for systems that helps to improve their ability to make better decisions. As mentioned, most solutions in organizations are disconnected, this makes accurate reporting across the company quite challenging. However, as an organisation using Business Central, Dynamics 365 BC  includes all the functionality needed within a single business solution, making it so much easier for organizations to get an end to end view of their business with real-time reporting.

Business Central even allows organizations to take reporting one step further by leveraging business intelligence dashboards in Microsoft Power BI. Kick it up a notch as businesses can now leverage built-in intelligence and advanced analytics.

Built-in intelligence and advanced analytics enable things like predictive cash flow, predictive inventory management, and even sales forecasts that help businesses stay on top of their cash flow and inventory.

Guide employees to optimal outcomes

Another great benefit is using built-in recommendations on when to pay vendors to take advantage of vendor discounts or avoid overdue penalties; this helps businesses maximize their profitability. Predicting when and what to replenish with built-in intelligence, sales forecasts, and dynamically updated inventory levels also Business Central helps you to get recommendations on when to pay vendors to use vendor discounts or avoid late penalties. This software helps you to manage budgets and monitor progress with real-time data on available resources.

Start and grow easily

Tailor to your needs

When thinking about the business management solution, organizations want a solution that’s easy to set up and get up and running with. They don’t want to spend a lot of time learning a new solution, importing data from one solution to another, or managing expensive and time-consuming software upgrades or replacements. This is where Business Central is the right fit; it provides “in-product wizards” that allow the organization to import business data from other solutions quickly. While there are also “In-product tutorials” to help users understand exactly how to use the solutions, we also recommend training sessions with your Dynamics 365 Business Central vendor to ensure that you understand how to use important functions.

Furthermore with Business Central delivered as Software as a service; organizations don’t need to worry about managing hardware or upgrades. In some cases, organizations might need to customize their applications to support their unique business needs. For that, with a simple drag and drop interface, it is easy for users to rearrange fields, rename groups, and re-position elements to design their UX as per their needs.

Add industry or business extensions

Although Business Central provides a full business management solution out of the box, some organizations require additional capabilities to support their industry-specific or vertical needs or in some cases, to support custom workloads by integrating third-party solutions. Business Central is built to support even this need since it is possible to extend the solution with apps from Microsoft AppSource.

Our customers can choose to work with our global network of partners that have deep industry knowledge and expertise and can help our customers customize the solution for those individual organization needs.

In this post, we will discuss the value of Business Central which it integrates with other Microsoft cloud services including Office 365 and can be customized or extended for specific industry needs with PowerApps, Microsoft Flow and Power BI.

Product overview

Dynamics 365 Business Central is the version of Dynamics 365 for finance and operations, Business edition; include full NAV capabilities, ranging from financial to operations management, to sales and services. Dynamics 365 Business Central will run on the same code base as a traditional on-premises NAV installation.
The shared codebase ensures complete consistency between both on-premises and cloud versions; that means users will be able to transition between on-premises and cloud with much ease.

Key abilities of Dynamics 365 Business Central

Dynamics 365 Business Central is a comprehensive, all in one business management solution designed for organizations that have outgrown their entry-level accounting solutions. It not only includes accounting and financial management capabilities but also sales, service, project management, supply chain, inventory, and operations management. In terms of target personas, we see business owners or CEOs, CFOs as primary decision-makers. However, IT directors, end-users and especially accounts play an active role in recommending solutions to these primary decision-makers.

Three areas are important for growing businesses:

Organizations that have outgrown their entry-level accounting solutions typically have trouble consolidating  different areas of their business.

For example, an organization may have started with just a basic accounting solution followed by an CRM solution to better manage their customers and opportunities. As their business further expands, they decide to add an inventory system. As you can imagine, these systems are brought in at different stages of business growth and don’t necessarily integrate well together, which results in employees spending a lot of time on manual managing processes and data. This is a classic pattern for growing companies, and we’ve learned that across industries, there are clear signs when customers’ existing financial solution starts to break and is unable to handle that additional growth.

In some cases, we have even seen customers use very old legacy ERP systems who continue to feel the hassle around scalability and mobility. Whereas Dynamics 365 Business Central has the ability to bring all of these systems and processes together into a single solution from the groundup, which enables organizations to reduce those manual processes and allows them to focus on more high-value tasks.

It also includes easy-to-create workflow functionality, which is complete with audit trails and enterprise-level security. Also, for many organizations, being able to access their business solutions on mobile devices is important. Dynamics 365 Business Central is fully mobile-enabled. It is available on iOS, Android and Windows devices.

And unlike some products that offer limited capabilities on mobile devices, for example, you could only handle expense report or just view data; Dynamics 365 Business Central provides the full experience across all form factors, so users have access to perform any activities on any device from anywhere.

Besides, Dynamics 365 Business Central is seamlessly integrated into Microsoft Office, so the users doesn’t even have to leave their familiar office interface to manage their everyday processes. For example, users can create, edit or email quotes, orders, and even invoices right from Outlook. They can use Microsoft word to create templates to personalize their documents, such as invoices and quotes.
Users can use Microsoft Excel to manipulate data with the ability to sync seamlessly back and forth between Excel and Dynamics 365 Business Central.

In the next series, we will discuss two important areas of Business Central, so follow us and watch out for that post! If you are considering implementing Business Central 365 for your business, do not hesitate to contact us here.
